Dr Matthew Webber
PhD, MBChB (Hons), BMedSci, MRCP

As a UK-trained cardiologist with subspecialist expertise in heart failure, cardiac devices and advanced cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR), I completed a PhD in cardiovascular imaging at University College London and hold Level 3 accreditation in CMR. My training at leading cardiac centres across the UK and Australia has given me extensive experience in managing complex heart failure, structural and inherited heart disease, and cardiac rhythm disorders.

My clinical practice includes the implantation and management of pacemakers, implantable defibrillators and cardiac resynchronisation therapy, alongside advanced cardiac MRI to guide diagnosis and refine treatment strategy. Alongside this work, I have led research in advanced imaging and cardiac electrical mapping, including co-developing a ECGI-CMR vest to enable non-invasive, high-resolution mapping of the heart’s electrical activity during MRI.

In addition, I serve as a Senior Clinical Reader for MyCardium AI, supporting the validation of AI-driven cardiac MRI analysis to ensure safe and meaningful translation into patient care. Combining innovation with careful clinical judgement underpins my approach, with a focus on early risk detection, reducing uncertainty, and supporting confident, patient-centred decision-making.
